BCLS Landscape Services of Central Virginia
It’s still summer in Central Virginia but we all know what happened last year!
For those of you who are impatient and cannot wait for winter to arrive, BCLS Snow & Ice Management is already prepping for the winter of 2018-2019. Based on early season weather forecasting, there is already enough data coming in that points to a shift in this year’s weather pattern. It appears winter is shifting from a la Niña to an el Niño.
So, what exactly does that mean?
Normally, when we have this transition, a blocking pattern often develops across portions of the east coast which allows for more snow. Some of bigger snow storms especially for the Mid-Atlantic and northeast is when Nor’easters occur when we have this transition.
A Little Early, But…
It still early to know a lot of the dynamics, oscillations and circulations in both the atmosphere and the ocean. But we do feel there will be bouts of cold weather and also some pretty decent cold spells in our future. Winter lovers this is for you. The countdown is on. Winter will be here before we know it and we know you want to be prepared as much as possible. Just remember BCLS Snow & Ice Management is here to help you prepare for the first snows of the season and whatever and the rest of the season brings to Richmond and Central Virginia.
